Sam Tobey (Flow Mayhem) is a Los Angeles based fire performer and flow arts teacher. She specializes in a medieval kung fu weapon called a rope dart, that she has adapted to become her dance partner.

Sam cut her teeth on California flow arts festivals in 2016, and has since gained impressive momentum on the internet as a rope dart performance artist. She has blown audiences away at events like Lightning in a Bottle, Envision, and Burning Man, performed nationally and internationally at high-end events and festivals, and worked with prestigious entertainment companies such as Quixotic and Zen Arts.

Welcome to Flow Mayhem's all-levels online Rope Dart course! This series focuses on the Rope Dart as a flow art and performance tool.

It is relevant to any Rope Dartist who wants to refine their form, accuracy, and transitions between moves.

The twelve-part video course will covers all the basics, brakes down some brand new sequences, and finish by teaching two minutes of awe-inspiring choreography that can be used for live performances. Other highlights include horizontal sequences, grid tracing, groundwork, and other rope dart techniques.

Flow Mayhem is best known for her Fire Rope Dart performances and videos. She also specializes in multiple other fire dance tools including Fire Dragon Staff, Fire Fans, Fire Eating, etc. Her solo show can entertain for up to twenty minutes!

Sam has also joined forces with some of the best known fire performers to create the dance company "Alliance of Gaia." This Los Angeles-based performance troupe features fire dance, acrobatics and aerial. The Alliance of Gaia collective is comprised of ten members, and has performed at big events like Coachella, Lightning in A Bottle, and Burning Man!
